Appraisers Wanted
County of Santa Clara. The Office of the County Assessor is seeking individuals who may be interested in serving on Santa Clara County's Assessment Appeals Board (AAB). The AAB has the full responsibility for equitably resolving all assessment appeals. Candidates must be fair, possess a high degree of integrity free from political influence, have excellent cognitive problem solving skills, demonstrate the ability to exercise solid judgment leading to fair and equitable conclusions, all in addition to possessing a judicial temperament. In addition to the minimum qualifications provided by the State Revenue and Taxation Code, candidates with specific desirable characteristics and experience be given preference. Appraiser Trainee Wanted. A well-respected fee firm in Chico, CA is looking for a commercial appraisal trainee intent upon working toward a Certified General Real Estate Appraisal license with 1-2 years of recent production experience, preferably under the supervision of a designated MAI. The qualified candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with ArcView GIS or general real estate experience is a plus. Programs used in the office include Microsoft Word, Excel, Paint Shop Pro and FileMaker Pro. Substantial completion of coursework toward the license is a plus. The majority of the work is in Butte County with some in Glenn and Shasta Counties. In house databases of comparables provide for report production efficiency. The work involves challenging assignments including subdivisions, apartments, industrial, office, eminent domain, special use properties, and mixed-use developments. A residential licensee with some commercial experience may be considered. The Appraiser II classification may also be responsible for providing technical training to appraisal staff and works under minimum supervision.
